Six years back we moved to this community and did not know anybody. We made a decision a good way to get to meet folk was to join the local church. We are lucky that there are two churches of our denomination that are close to our home. One is three miles from our home and the other is five miles. We made a decision that we’d attend services at both churches to determine which one we were fond of better.

After switching from one church to the other over a two- month period we made a decision to join the church that was nearest to us. When we registered with the parish the priest had us complete a time and talent survey. My hubby joined up to be a lector and we both signed on to be Eucharistic ministers. I also signed on to be on the parish life panel. As we do the social functions also we are in control of buying items for the parish center. The area can accommodate up to two hundred folks.

Many times the funeral lunches that are held in this area after the commemorative services are staffed by ladies. Other occasions also require the need for tables during meetings and conferences in the church.We made a decision about the tables in a meeting and then two of us went to choose them out. We found a white plastic folding table at a cafe supply. The table was robust, light weight and simple to keep clean. We made a decision to order two dozens of the tables for the space. They were a lot less than we had thought they might be so we had room in our budget to buy the plastic folding chairs that matched the tables. The tops of the tables are so good looking that we don’t have to use table linens to cover them.
